It’s the night before your big interview for that job you’ve been eyeing for some time now. You have done your best to shrug off the pressure and keep focused and calm. No matter how many times you tell yourself that things will go great and you will get the job, you’re still nervous. How can you overcome these feelings and what can you do to ensure that you stay cool and collected at your interview?
One of the best things a person can do is visualize positive outcomes and picture yourself succeeding – it’s your imagination so have fun with it.
Close your eyes and imagine your 1989 Lumina is a brand new convertible Benz that you are cruising to your job interview in without a care in the world. The wind is blowing through your hair and your favourite song is on the radio. You pull up at the office for your interview, check your hair (which still looks perfect despite the convertible), walk into the office and meet your future employer. The job interview questions are simple, “Why do you want to work for us?”, “What are your three greatest strengths?”, “Why do you think you would be a great fit in our company?” You finish the interview with a smile and it could not have gone better. You know that you put you best foot forward and you will get a phone call in the next few days from the employer saying that you are hired!
Keep feeling positive and know that you would not be going for an interview if the employer did not see something in your resume that made them think you were capable of doing the job! In other words, you’re already hired, you just need to make it final by letting the employer see how great you really are!
