Apprentice Carpenter

Job Description

We are currently seeking construction personnel of all levels with a strong work ethic, the desire to be part of a team, and the skills to advance one of the largest residential and commercial projects in the region.




Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Apprentice Carpenter selected will assume the role of Apprentice Carpenter and be responsible for the quality control of all homes constructed in a the community, ensuring the compliance with local building code and company safety policy. The Apprentice Carpenter is also responsible for general site maintenance and clean-up as needed.




Role and Responsibilities:


  • Assist in quality control of all homes constructed in a project.

  • Follow through of building code and corporate safety requirements on all sites.

  • Perform touch ups and repairs on sub-trade deficiencies.

  • Carpentry work that falls outside of the scope of work of vendors.

  • Perform frame checks and mechanical checks.

  • Perform structural adjustments to framing.

  • Frame Garages and Basements.

  • Proficient knowledge and use of power tools such as air nailers, skill saw, screw gun.

  • Experience or willingness to be trained on skid steer loader is an asset.

  • Equipment operator required for site grading, snow removal, street sweeping and material off-loading




  • Class 5 Drivers License

  • Experience in residential framing

  • Enrolment in apprenticeship an asset

  • Completion of high school diploma.

  • Completion of vocational training in carpentry is an asset.

  • Experience in residential construction.

  • Good verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of building code and safety code requirements.

  • Steel toed footwear

  • Hand Tools / Tool Belt
