Child Caregiver with Option to Live In

Job Description

We require a full time live-in OR live-out caregiver for 3 children in our Saskatoon home.  Our oldest attends school and the 2 youngest are at home.   


We are looking for a caring, trustworthy, and reliable person.  Someone who manages the balance of having fun and sharing in learning with our children with completing light household tasks.   


One dog is in the home.


 


Main Duties


Supervise and care for children in employer's residence:  *The caregiver has the option to live in the employer's home.  Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis.  Note: This is not a condition of employment.




  • Bathe, dress and feed infant/children



  • Change infant diaper



  • Oversee children's activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer



  • Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development



  • Tend to children's emotional, social & physical well-being



  • Discipline children according to methods requested by parents



  • Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, toy playing, reading and outings to provide stimulation and exercise



  • Engage in regular conversation to build good relationships



  • Ensure that all toys are clean and safe



  • Take children to and from school and to appointments



  • Plan, prepare and provide meals for children



  • Perform other light housekeeping/cleaning duties



  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home



  • Communicate with parents about children's activities, behaviour, challenges, patterns and progress which may include keeping daily records



 


 Wage $13/hr, 40-44 hrs/week, Monday-Friday


 


 Require:



  • Secondary school or equivalent (i.e. GED)

  • Completion of training program in child care preferred


  • Child-care or household management experience required



  • Demonstrated ability to perform work



  • First Aid/CPR & Driver's License are an asset but not required



  • Caregiver must provide references & criminal record check
