Breck specializes in major projects at heavy industrial plants and is experienced in long-term maintenance, boiler inspections, shutdowns, expansions, and upgrading. Breck’s head office is located in Saskatoon and provides services across Saskatchewan and Ontario.


 


Position Overview:


The Construction Technologist position is a permanent full-time position. This position will be responsible for field testing, surveying, and other project specific duties as assigned. This position offers a variety of field work on a diversified range of projects primarily within Saskatchewan.


 


 Responsibilities:


 




  • Working on commercial and industrial projects in both field and office environments



  • Arrange and conduct construction field services as required, including concrete testing and preparation of field and testing reports 



  • Development of quality control and quality assurance packages on a variety of projects 



 



  • Create engineering designs and project requirements using AutoCAD and other technical software as required

  • Project coordination activities including the planning and coordinating of  construction activities (including crew and equipment) and the creation and management of plans, specifications, costs, material estimates, and subcontracts

  • Preparation of documents required for approvals, estimates, tender documents, and contracts

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with schedules, budgets, and quality control standards

  • Other duties as required


 


Qualifications:


 



  • Completion of Civil Technology program at a recognized post-secondary institution


 




  • Field skills in surveying




 




  • Trained and certified for concrete field testing




  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook



 



  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License - preference will be given to candidates with a clean driving record (driving abstract required)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and listening skills

  • Effective time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and also be a high-contributing team player

  • Must be physically capable of performing the required manual labour duties

  • Previous experience is considered an asset


 


Working Conditions:


 




  • Travel to/from/within various jobsites.




  • May be required to work overtime occasionally




  • Daily exposure to construction environment (heavy equipment, inclement weather, etc.)
